For our writing we
have been looking at a big long word – characterisation. We found out that
characterisation is when a writer describes a character by how they look, how
they behave or act, and how they feel.
To help us understand we worked in
groups to think of a character and create a mind-map for that character.
The
mind-map then got passed on to another group. They had to use the character descriptions
to draw the character. This was sometimes hard to do if there wasn't a lot of
descriptions. We then shared our drawings to see if they were as the first
group had described. A lot of us found this quite funny!
We now know we need to add in lots of details to describe our characters when we write so the reader can picture the character in their head.
